Hi, Its friday again... And here's my favorite thing for this week!!!

Remember the wonderful trip I went on with my family last month???

Yeah, We had gone to Goa!!! Thats me and my hubby's favorite holiday destination... Why didn't we go there last week??? That was because I was already up north (about 150 kms) and Goa is to the south (about 450 kms)...

But, wait... Today while Aadi and I were waiting for his school rickshaw (yeah, he goes to school by an auto rickshaw) Rohit's Best Friend came along with his wife and kids to say bye as they were going to Goa for the weekend...

Aadi declared that he wanted to go too... And Rohit said - Pack our bags we are going to Goa!!! Now, I'm a little confused if he's really serious or not... I do hope he is... LOL... The last trip was a disaster and he just didn't get to enjoy at all... So here I am waiting for him to come for lunch and tell me if he's serious... And if he is... I will see you guys on Monday!!!

Thats another of my favorite thing - DH's unpredictability!!! But I'll leave that for another Friday...

That was my Favorite Thing this Friday, whats yours??? Pop over to Quilting in my Pyjamas and share it...

Cheers!!!

Grrr!!! \:-[ I hate when this happens...

Sometimes my machines just wants to act up... Everything was going fine... I am at block 11/16 for the Small Leaves Quilt for my client... I'm done with pasting the leaves on all the blocks and they look so pretty!!!
So my dear little Bernette decides its time to make me a little bit angry... So she starts skipping some of the zig-zag stitches... I change the needle, change the bobbin, clean her a**, oil her and start working again... Wow! Oh so smooth...

Block no 13/16 and she starts skipping again... I redo my routine thinking the glue must have been the culprit... But this time, she wont be buttered by me... :( And she continues her skipping...

And my leaves start looking like this...
When my dear Bernette acts up

Oh, I hate this so much... Can anyone tell me what I should do???

OK, I'll bribe you... Give me a trick that works and you can win a FE of each of these delicious fabrics... What do you say??? Are you game???

The five sweets...

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

First A very Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!!!

It has been a hectic week on the sewing front... What with all the swap deadlines and my first commissioned quilt!!! It was fun to choose the fabric, the pattern... And its a gift for a bride on her wedding day from her parents!!!

I'm using Elizabeth Hartman's Little Leaves pattern from her book The Practical Guide to Patchwork: New Basics for the Modern Quiltmaker...

I'm just changing the block sizes a little bit to make it from just the one Dream On Charm Pack that I have...

The background will be a pale yellow! I hope to get it ready by tomorrow night...

Meanwhile, I did finish a lot of stuff on my swap front...

Scrappy Hoop

The first was my hoop for the Scrappy Hoop Swap... The posting of this was a huge story. I had packed it to send as soon as I was back from my trip... I was not well so I asked DH to take it to the PO for me... He did!!! (So sweet)... Fast Forward to Sunday morning... I was sorting through my scraps and imagine my horror when I found this beauty peeking from under the pile of scraps!!! I was just short of fainting...

So here's the story... In my hurry I had packed away a trial hoop that I was working on! It has absolutely stupid embroidery on it that I'm so embarrased to show anyone... I sent away my final hoop immediately, but I'm just nervos about what my partner will say when she gets the first one...

This one's made from the same pattern that I'm using for the quilt and I've used leftover petals for it too... Dream On!!!

My next finish is for my Mug Rug Swap...
My Star Mug Rug!!!

This is a Star Mug Rug that I made... I know I signed up for a non-christmas mug rug, but I just cannot help but send this one...

This little girls' going a long way...

Next, I've made another cute Mug Rug with the exact pattern that I made mine!!! This little girl's going a long way!!!

Any guesses what it is???

And this is something else thats going to accompany the two Mug Rugs... Any guesses what it is???

I also found a bunch of fabulous fabric at my local market... Perfect with co-ordinated solids for another HST project... Mayble I'll use them for my PTS4 pillow!
My fabulous finds at the local market...

I promised you guys a post about all the fabulous fabric that I bought on my trip... Well here it is... Favorite Things Friday

Today, I'm hopping in with Mrs P and telling you about my favorite things... Apart from the wonderful shopping trip i recently told you about...

While I was away, I received this in the mail :

It is my favorite quilting book so far... The instructions are just so clear and simple to understand... The look of the book is uncluttered... There are vital tips to make your work both easy and better... The basics have been explained in a manner, that could not have been better and the projects are awesome!!!

The first thing that I had noticed about Elizabeth Hartman's quilts when I came across her blog, was the accuracy of her quilts... The corners matched perfectly, the color balance was perfect and the quilting was uniform!

Her blog is also simple to navigate and searching for anything is really very easy... She has hosted 3 fabulous quilt alongs and has numerous free tutorials on her site...

I even bought the canasta quilts pattern from her a few months back... It has been a good buy, again with clear and crisp instructions...

When I knew she was writing a book, I really looked forward to it and expected her to deliver the same simplicity as her blog does and she sure didn't dissapoint me...

So all those who need to relearn the basics or just want to have some faboulous new patterns, do buy the book. It can also be a great gift for fellow quilters...

You can buy it here.

Thats The Practical Guide to Pachwork, my favorite, this Friday... Whats yours??? Join the hop and tell us...

I am doing much better today, just getting over the loads of housework that seems to have multiplied itself when I was away... Does anyone know where do ALL of my husband's handkerchiefs go when I'm out of town? Or HOW socks manage to change their colors??? I clearly remember putting 2 PAIRS of each - White, Brown, Black, Blue and Grey in his drawer before I left and now there's only ONE each of brown, white and grey in it!! I think i should install a cctv camera in my house so that I know where stuff goes!!!

Will get back to you when I have straightened everything out - tonite is the limit!!!

Cheers!!!
