Look what arrived yesterday!

4 books and some awesome fabric!!!

Envious?

Not yet?

Here are the books

For inspiration to make something for the 3 awesome men in my life (DH, DS and DB)

and

for some clear and crisp inspiration...

and

some heart stopping, eyes widening inspiration!

and

to go back to the basics...

and these had arrived earlier...

for decorating my home...

 and

some simplistic combinations of tradition + modernism!

and

to explore a whole new field!

And a lot of fabric...

To revisit the Gardens of India pattern!

and

and some little apples to play with!

and for these napkins

some newsprint...

And some "wow" red chevron and assorted red flannels

to make this beauty...

Thats a handful of plans!

I have been busy...

Aadi wanted to learn to sew and I taught him!

He put together 16 charm squares that I quilted for him and turned it into a pillow!

It was so wonderful watching him enjoy it!

Photos of the "Pillow of honor" coming soon!

I have also booked a stall at a craft fair for October and there are a thousand things on my list... Am on a finishing spree...

Will do a leisure post about all of it! It deserves a special post!

I've also started taking quilting lessons... Got my first 2 students! Will start their classes mid-July...

FQS Bella Parade : Season 2 : Guest Post 5

Hi all and lets welcome the last guest of the Bella Parade...

She is a natural entertainer!

Reading a post on her blog makes me smile - EVERY SINGLE TIME!

She has a knack of turning even the simplest of all the household stuff into a riot-of-laughter kind of blogpost!

And here's her about me that I shamelessly copied from her blog...

"I come from the Land Down Under. (I bet you just started humming that song didn’t you?) Australia is a land at the bottom of the earth where we spend most of our time avoiding hungry sharks, deadly spiders and bad tempered koalas. In my spare moments away from cheating imminent death, I quilt, I sew, I create and I blog.I avoid housework whenever I can because it’s pointless. I have a large wardrobe of clothes rendering washing unnecessary for several weeks at a time.I once went 17 days without cooking a meal. It’s all about managing your time effectively. I am officially addicted to fabric. In 2011 I vowed to buy less than 100 yards of fabric for the year and managed to break my own vow within four months because I have no willpower. In my middle age , I have decided I’m entitled to do what I want , when I want so if profanity and randomness doesn’t scare the socks off you you’re welcome to tag along for the ride."

Please welcome Shay from Quilting in my Pyjamas

Head over here to find out what fabrics she's chosen to work with...

And dont forget to drop by tomorrow and find out what she has in store for you. Hope you haven't forgotten that it is the key to win a Half Yard Bundle of the 2012 Bella Solids!

FQS Bella Parade : Season 2 : Post # 20

Welcome to the last day of the Bella Parade...

It has been an awesome year!

The color of the day is

Platinum

This is one gorgeous color that you can pair with any other!!!

Here are some beauties with this striking color in them!

This quilt made by Kate from One flew over has been featured here before too... But its just too gorgeous not to be mentioned again...

Gray can serve as a great neutral...

The white and brown birds on wires really make a statement! Found here.

This dramatic gingham made by our favorite Amanda of Crazy Mom is stylish, masculine as well as warm and comforting! Just the kind of quilt a mom would make - even if she was crazy!

It looks great not just with pastels, but also with bright colors

The binding really complements the riot of bright colors this beautiful quilt made by Holly from Bijou Lovely is!

Here are my selection of fabrics to go with it

And here's my quilting design of the day

Its simple but I felt it looks good with this color...

I did waves again, but this time with some surf! I feel they'll look rather well on a boys quilt!

Coming back to the parade

Here are some fab quilts with Boysenberry in them!

I could not find the name of the quilt maker... But she makes awesome traditional quilts... Go have a look here...

This is one of the beautiful Amish Country Quilts. Hop over here to see more...

This is a beautiful modern quilt made using boysenberry as a neutral!
It looks amazing!
It is made by Cytel and I recommend you go and check out her work... You'll get lost on her blog!

It is also a common choice for making hawaiian applique quilts! Here's one from Island Girlz

What would I pair with boysenberry?

Here's my quilt design for the day

I tried my hand at spirals and the end results were not too bad!

What do you think? I doubt if I'll use this design for an entire quilt, I'll start feeling dizzy by the end of it! But maybe to highlight a few parts...
