Cheers!!!
what a great giveaway! i love your pairing ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the fabrics that are being paired with the solids. It's also great looking at the photos on the flickr page, but with work I'm finding it hard to manage getting photos every day, so I've had to dip out of that part of the competition. Thanks for this extra giveaway - great idea!!!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the fabric matching VERY MUCH. The only part I am not crazy about is the way the daily giveaway is done. It seems the person with the most time is rewarded. I realize posting a great number of pictures keeps this type of thing going but some of us have a difficult time posting that many pictures and work too. Maybe a couple of the prizes could be given away for creativity. All in all that is a minor dislike because I am enjoying EVERYTHING else!!
ReplyDeleteLove the giveaway! I had this on my list to do daily but I just started tonight loading pics. So far I think its great.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea, and *really* enjoy running around trying to find an exact match, but it's hugely time consuming I agree. It's pushing me to play with color in a way I've not done since art school, because in my sewing I pretty much pick what I like right now, as I've not been doing it long. Seeing the fabric pairings is great too, reflecting on what might have chosen.
ReplyDelete-alternative prize days once a week might help those without the ability to spend the amount of time required for mass uploads, or without the Pro Flickr account needed for them (it maxes you out at 200) might be something like - the exact color found in the most unexpected location, most artistic photo, funniest photo containing the days color etc.
Thanks for organising such a unique blog/flickr activity. I'm sure it takes a *whole* amount of coordinating.
I love seeing the solids matched up with other fabrics on the blog! It's encouraging me to look at colors in a new way. I enjoy browsing the different photos posted on flickr but I too don't have time to go searching for the right photos. I have been posting a few from my flickr pool each day but I'll never win because I don't have that many to choose from!
ReplyDeleteAll in all, love the idea
I'm loving learning a lot about solids and pairing them up with prints and other solids. Great inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing everyone's color matching and the fun use of color. Thank you so much for hosting the parade!! I would adore to win this box o'color!!
ReplyDeleteYes I'm enjoying this parade!!!
ReplyDeleteWe can see that you are putting a lot of effort to make this fun & informative.
I love the color facts, fabric pairings, experts' suggestions AND the giveaways! ;D
But the only problem is that I don't have a camera of my own so I cannot enter the contest in flickr :(
Thank you & FQS for the giveaway :D
Enjoying watching the pairings you do with the fabrics. But I only have a work-issued computer and not a personal computer. Due to that fact, I can't download photos so don't get to participate. But I'm having fun watching all the rest of you.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying the posts. I am not a photo girl and have not being participating in it, but have really enjoyed seeing the color combos.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I don't like that you have to have a flickr account to participate, but I love seeing everyone's matchups.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Parade!
ReplyDeleteJust wish I had more time for each color, like maybe one per week. With it every day I end up not even trying because I don't have time every day to sift through all my pictures.
Received my FQS order with Bella solids and have started cutting my pieces. Fun!
ReplyDeleteloving all the posts and the different shades and hues .. I think it's a great idea and there's no reason to change a thing!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the solids are matched with prints. The most difficult part of quilting, I guess, is to match the right prints and solids. After looking at just the first five days I already have tons of ideas on pairing the right fabric prints/colours. Raring to go! Love it !
ReplyDeleteleena
Wow - what an awesome giveaway! What I like about this parade is getting to know Bella solids a little bit. I've pretty much only used solids from "the other guy" if you know what I mean :)
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed this parade, but never posted a photo. Oops! Can I still participate?
ReplyDeleteI have been wanting to make a solids quilt. This would be perfect. Loved. Appreciated. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteLove it! It's a bit hard to have time to upload the pics. Maybe need a weekend to upload to flickr since I work during the day and have family time at night.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your Bella parade posts very much. They are inspiraing me to use more solids in my projects! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's fun seeing the paired fabrics, but to echo others, I don't have the time to go searching for things to photograph, and upload them all. The first day - white - was easiest for me, and I managed to get 30 photos up (many of them snow!) but it was quite time consuming even just uploading the photos - each batch of 6 takes several minutes, and it only lets me do 6 at a time. I haven't pursued it after the first day.
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying seeing the colours one by one. I love that there is lots of communication, that you answer questions quickly and that no question is silly. I don't like that I don't have time to take a zillion pictures and it seems people are winning for quantity.
ReplyDeleteThe colors are delightfully bright. Makes me happy just looking at them. I would make a quilt for sure. Now to go look at patterns.... Thanks for the contest.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't too keen about solids before, but since the parade has been going on, I've decided that I want to do a solids only quilt. I do like to see what the designers pair the solids with. Thanks for the education!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it so far. Especially the quilter's picks for each color. It's nice to see what fabrics other people pick out to go with each color!
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt and I may be behind your schedule but I will make it! There is no way I have time to load enough photos to win the flickr prizes, so I'm not even attempting that. I'm enjoying the posts.
ReplyDeleteThis would be SO FANTASTIC to win! You have no idea how difficult it is to get solids other than white and black where I live and since I don't have one of those handy swatch cards ... yet ... I'm hooped.
ReplyDeleteIt's been so helpful to see the fabrics that are suggested as possible matches.
And, to tell you the truth, I'm kind of loving looking at my photo collection with a new eye ... noticing colours that might not have caught my eye before. A good lesson to look at things in a new way.
I've actually won some yardage and as thrilling as that is, I'd enjoy the photo game anyway.
I love that Solids are getting a voice and 31 of these beauties are on show. It was fun having the chance to show one off and it has been great seeing how people have chosen colours to complement them. THanks for a very generous giveaway. I would love to win this one.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying looking for colour around my house as I work and wander and seeing the colour choices that other people are making. Like several other people I find that taking and uploading photographs is very time consuming and so I'm not taking part as much as I'd like as I have so much else happening. Perhaps there could be some days when only one photograph is required to enter and then make a random draw; or perhaps choose the most fascinating photograph or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI love the Parade! And I really enjoy the quiltalong. I started posting colour-pictures at Flickr, but after seeing so many taking and posting tons of pictures every day, I couldn't keep up with that - they must spend hours taking photos and uploading them.... So I go for the quiltalong, reading the posts and enjoying that :o) Hoping to win some gorgeous fabrics though!!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying seeing everyone's fabric pairings!

ReplyDeleteLove the spotlight on the solid colours- I love the pairings and in particular I love the unusual colour pairings that are out of my comfort zone, or that I simply had never considered. It is certainly an incentive to look at colour pairings around us - in nature and man made, and be more observant of what works for us.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the color combinations!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the different pictures just wish I had the time to join in! I am a bit hopeless with colour so I am hoping this will give me some ideas. I only buy white and cream solids!! I know, such a wimp.
ReplyDeleteI am honestly not enjoying the whole Flickr photo competition. With as many folks that signed up, it would be nice to have just one entry per person, you know, seek that perfect photo. Im certain that I speak for many others in that we just dont have that kind of time to take a camera full of photos and upload them each day. That takes the fun out of it for me. I'm OK with it though as it is your competition and your rules, I just didn't understand it was like this and so I most likely wont be participating in the rest of the days.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying seeing how the colours match up with other colours and prints. I'm not joining in though as I spend 10 hours out of each day at work and so I don't have the spare time to go out taking photos and then uploading them. I feel the contest is more for SAHMs.
ReplyDeleteLove looking at the fabrics and colors! gougeonathome@charter.net (Allison)
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying seeing all the photos match with the colors. It's really helped me see colors differently. But like others, I don't have time to run around getting a million photos every day. And I AM a SAHM. ;) I would love if it were one entry per.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win!
ReplyDeleteAs has been said by several others here, the only dislike I have had is that folks are simply linking photos they have previously taken.
I am a photographer, I have over 250,000 photos taken in the past 3 years readily available on my HDs... Do I have an unfair advantage? Yes, which is why I have chosen not to participate in the posting contest... This random draw gives me no advantage, so I will gladly participate.

I am really loving see the fabric match picks. It is very inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the suggested fabrics to coordinate... I start off thinking "really? that one?" and end up seeing it as a perfect choice... it's been fun to think outside the box.
ReplyDeleteI am loving the parade. My favorite is seeing the great quilts that match the color of the day. They are so beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed seeing all the inspiration for colors I might not otherwise think about using.
ReplyDeleteI love the variety of the fabric. It is very inspirational!!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying seeing all of the solids matched up with prints on here. I haven't had enough time to really dig into the flickr pool, but I am going to try this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the different colors each day. I'm not really liking the flickr challenge it's much too busy for one color per day.
ReplyDeleteThe colours are lovely. Thanks for offering a chance to win.
ReplyDeleteWilma @ WilmasCraftCorner.blogspot.com
I find myself looking forward to discovering the colour of the day and try to look out for it the next day...I can't join in the photo competition as I don't have a camera...I'm also enjoying the way you're raising the profile of Bella solids - hopefully they'll become as well blogged as solids from 'the other bloke' (as someone else described the company!). They're the only solid I use and I love the look and feel of them - so nice to stitch with! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying learning about using solids! :)
ReplyDeleteSolids are my favorite, so I'm really enjoying the quilt samples. Unfortunately, I can't participate in the photo competition....satellite does not allow for much uploading (it's slow- almost like dial up!). One perfect picture per person might open the competition up to more folks. In any case, I'm so enjoying the color pairings - helps to expand my horizons! Thanks much.
ReplyDeleteThis project has encouraged me to really look at the colours of the fabrics and the colours of the world around me. I love that. I too have no time to take new photos but I have been looking in my quilt photos to see if there are any matches and if so, adding a photo or two. I think that a random draw daily, with one entry per relevant photo would be a lot more fair, then people with only one photo could happily participate too. Also, I would love to see a flickr discussion thread for people to introduce them and their blog, and to link to blog posts about this project, and a flickr discussion thread about the quilt along and links to any blog posts about it.
ReplyDeleteTough uploading pics to flickr all the time, but fun when I have the time.
ReplyDeleteOver the last few months, I've grown to love solids and I think this is so fun to make them the focal point and work from there. I'm having internet issues and can't connect to participate in the flickr part, but am still loving seeing the fabric matchings.
ReplyDeleteI love the way you pair fabrics up. Thanks for the opportunity to win.=)
ReplyDeleteThank you for all of the hard work you have put into the Bella Parade and to the Fat Quarter Shop for sponsoring it.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the fabric pairings. It's made me look at solids in a whole new way.
I just ordered my first Bella Solid and am delighted at the feel and depth of the color. As usual Moda quality really shows.
My only problem is finding the time to take shots that match the color of the day. I applaud the winners who have taken SO MANY wonderful shots, but wish there was an alternate way to win.
Awesome giveaway!! I have been enjoying the pairings - clever!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome giveaway!! I have been enjoying the pairings - clever!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the fabrics chosen to go with the main color of the day. Fun idea!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely enjoying seeing all the solids in the Bella range and the chance to win. I wish that the photos added to the pool had to be taken within 24 hours of the posting. I realize that might be difficult to confirm. I also like the idea of rewarding something other than volume in the photos.
ReplyDeleteA world without color would just be...well, colorless.
ReplyDeleteI love the daily offerings and the chance to win some additions to my box of crayons.
I do have trouble keeping up with the photo portion, at least taking pictures and posting them for you.
Keep the colors coming!
I love learning ways to use more solids.
ReplyDeleteI have been loving it so far - the colours paired with other fabrics as well as being shown on other sewing goodies.
ReplyDeleteHowever like others have said, I don't have that much time to snap up photos as I am out (at school) from 7.30-4.30 ..doesn't leave me with much time to go looking for photo ideas ! Maybe have the most photos but other things like the most creative/unusual or maybe some sort of vote (although that would take a lot longer!)
Caro~
Enjoying the parade as time allows.
ReplyDeleteJust love Bella Solids they are great to work with and have fabulous colour range.
This is a really great way to get us all thinking much more seriously about color. Thanks for doing this!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing all the fabric pairings. The only think I don’t like is that I haven’t had time to participate like I want!
ReplyDeleteThank you for leading this!
The parade - shows all different colors in solids that make me now want to make a quilt of my own.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.
I love this parade! I have never used a lot of solids, but this has really sold me on them. And the colors! Delicious! Also, there was a print you showed a couple days ago "Sky Flock" I think, with little blue birds that has really stuck in my head. I'm going to have to find some of that!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoying this parade. It is helping me to think differently about solids and different color combinations. Thanks for the inspiration and the giveaway. Winning this box of fabric would really jumpstart my solid stash. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm always looking for ideas on color combinations so this fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like the solid pairings. All the pairings I've seen so far have had thought put into them. Contributors are making an effort. With the prints, it may be good to have them coordinated with each other as well as with the solids so it is like a pack.
ReplyDeleteI haven't uploaded a single picture because I have been too busy. I have looked through the pool and it seems like there is more emphasis on quantity than quality. Maybe for next time if it could be just one picture for each colour and we 'vote' on our favourites by number of comments. To make it easier on you, if there was a thread for that colour and the person who uploaded the photograph could just count up the number of comments (within the alloted time period) and add that to the thread. If a person uploads a picture, they are entering the competition and as part of entering the competition it becomes their responsibility to count their votes.
Thanks for putting this together. It takes a lot of coordination and I know you have had things going on personally, but still kept up with this.
I enjoy the posts about fabric pairings. As am on dialup, it does take a very long time to download the full-sized photos. Perhaps smaller images with click for larger image option could be used -- especially so can see more of the fabric images compared side-by-side. Most of the selections are awesome.
ReplyDeleteRegarding the daily entry - I don't like the photo requirement. The same people are winning every time because they can pull tons of pre-existing photos out of flickr. Why even try when know cannot win! Taking photos and uploading is very time consuming. At best I can turnaround one photo in 2 days on dialup into flickr.
Hopefully the weekly entry via random comment will be more - well - random.
Well, you said to give the good and the needs improvement. flickr just crashed during a transfer, again, so am aggravated at "it" - not any of the generous folks handling the parade. Now, I'm off to read more of the parade of neutrals. Thanks, and Cheers!
I like seeing the colors and the matches that go with them. I also like seeing the quilt examples of the mix of solids.
ReplyDeleteI have kinda quit looking at the flickr group because it is confusing and I know I cannot begin to compete in the photo contest, so I am just reading your blog.
But I am planning on doing the quilt along and am glad to be able to learn more about the Bella solids. Thank you guys for all your hard work!
Shruti - the solids parade is great. I love it that you've pulled so many other quilt bloggers in to give their coordinating fabric pics, it's super fun!
ReplyDeleteI read through the comments and sympathize with people who do not have a huge database of photos to draw from. I'm guilty of posting lots to the pool, because I store most of my photos on flickr. Maybe that's not fair. I would be in favour of posting just one great photo that shows the 'colour of the day' then having a random drawing. That way so many more people can have a chance to win. I think it would be a little hard to turn it into a photo contest with voting or choosing the one perfect photo - that's not going to be fun for you.
It's your party - do what makes sense for you! Thanks for sharing all of this solid fabric love with us!
Thanks for giving us busy folks another chance!
ReplyDeletei am loving this parade! :) and thanks for giving those of us who do not have time to take pictures ... a chance to win some awesome bella fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric pairings and inspiring palettes. I hope to have a chance to be more involved with my camera.

Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks for the opportunity to win some yummy fabrics!!!

I am enjoying the color parade! I love seeing the quilts with the chosen colors. Very inspiring. Thank you!!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at all the photos - what talent out there!
ReplyDeleteThe colour parade looks great; solids are so useful !
ReplyDeleteThanks for a chance to win this wonderful give away
ReplyDeleteEnjoying the parade of solids! Would LOVE to work with that bundle!
ReplyDeleteI'm a Kona girl but maybe winning this would change my mind!
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific giveaway! I am really a Kona person, but I have a few Moda solids, and they are lovely! I wouldn't mind working with them, too. I love seing all of everyone's ideas!
ReplyDeleteI love the parade! Along with many others, I haven't had time to contribute much to the pool... and I also haven't had enough pictures. I think it would be great if each person could post one, and then maybe everyone could vote? Or, someone was drawn randomly from those posted? I really enjoy your posts every day though, and looking at the fabrics that coordinate!
ReplyDeleteIt is fun to see all the colors, and where inspiration can be found. Thanks for the giveaway for those of us without a ton of spare time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway, think of everything you could make with them! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteThis will add a lovely dimension to the whole Bella Parade, so please count me in.
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to be involved, but life has got in the way of Art!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could do a very simple one shot per person and decide which you like best, or ask everyone to create a mosaic of specific colours during a month and judge that?
But this opportunity is great, thank you.
I have enjoyed seeing what pics others post (although I have been short on time to do any!) I love the ideas for pairing up solids. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's lots of fun seeing how people combine colors. I love color! Probably one of the reasons I love fabric!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed seeing the different things people do with color. I wish that my LQS had a better selection of solidss
ReplyDeleteI have just started collecting solids and have found your series on colour so useful in planning my next purchase. I'd love to win this selection - would help me get started on my first solid quilt!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win! I am really enjoying seeing all the wonderful color combinations!
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying all of the color combinations that are now burned into my brain for later use. It will definitely come in handy!

I am enjoying the parade too! I would really like to see the color choices as a collage rather than a column of images, so that I could see them all together instead of having only two or three on my screen at the same time. Thanks for organizing this and the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI'm having a lot of fun running around snapping pictures. I love reading about the colors each day too.
ReplyDeleteoh now that would be a wonderfful giveaway to win! I am thoroughly enjoying seeing the colours picks for each day. Fun!
ReplyDeleteI love the parade - any chance to get a color fix & ideas is great! Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI love Kona and love the colors. Thanks for the give away.
ReplyDeleteOk, I'm having problems with Blogger today - let's try again!
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying the parade and the pairing of different colours. I must admit that I haven't even thought of posting pics after the first day as I simply can't compete with the volume of pics that some people have.
So, thanks for this extra giveaway and the chance to win some of those delicious fabrics :)
LOVE KONA!
ReplyDeleteLOVE THE PARADE!
THANKS FOR SHARING!
jldouglas@wispwest.net
Love the new fabric ideas. Thanks. New ideas for matching!
ReplyDeleteI'm enjoying seeing how each colour is paired with its friends. Very inspirational.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the idea, but haven't been able to participate because our internet service is quite slow...and frankly, it seemed clear I'd never be able to post the most photos. I would have participated if the contest had been focused on one photo per person, with the best or most interesting or randomly chosen pic winning.
ReplyDeleteBut that sounds too much like criticism, so I'll say again what a great idea I think it is.
wordygirl at earthlink dot net
This is a great idea! Thanks for taking it on. I love seeing the fabrics matched....it helps me get out of my box! I wish I had time to take some photos to join in that part but I'm enjoying looking at the photos of others. THANKS!
ReplyDeleteI always appreciate when someone jumps out of the box and does something new, unexpected... and I love solids anyway, so this is a fun project to look at (tho I've not had time to participate). Thanks for the give-away.
ReplyDeleteIt's very interesting seeing the fabrics matches. Some I'd never think to put together. Thanks for the great giveaway! :)
ReplyDeleteQuilt Dad just sent me over today. What beautiful fabrics you're showcasing here!
ReplyDeleteI see I am still in time to be in the drawing. Boy would I love to win those!
I'll be looking all around some more and maybe even hunting for some good pics.
What an interesting idea you have here. *S*
I love the color parade. It's a great idea. I don't have enough time to participate. I work full time and have a commute of 45 minutes each weekday, so that leaves little time when I get home to do something like this. But, I think it's a fun idea and do enjoy the pics!
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway, thank you :o) My children loved coming with me to find the colours and take the pictures :o)
ReplyDeleteI love solids! Its great that you are showing pairings...its super helpful and inspiring! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt is so nice to see solids coming back into fashion again!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this BFQ parade.
ReplyDeleteNot only the lovely photos that others are posting, but also that it's made me see the world with new eyes. There's beautiful, vivid colour everywhere I go!
