Bella Parade 13 : Post # 1

Good morning and welcome to the Bella Parade!!!

And the first color of the day is

Now you have to guess the name of the color.
Here are 3 hints to do that
1. two words
2. X alkalie red
3. _ c _ _     g _ _ e _

And today I'm going to talk about the various color combinations that I think might work using this color.

Combined with Light Lime and Pesto it makes a terrific monochromatic scheme.

To make a complementary scheme, I'd love to pair it with Purple

To make a more creative color scheme, I'd select a Graphic theme combining it with Berrylicious & Black

If I was given the freedom to combine it with prints, I'd use  it with the Color me Retro by Jeni Baker for a retro feminine look

I'd love to combine it with the Greystone Luxe in Bloom by Sara Watson for a sophisticated look.

And with Retro Les Monsiurs by Tamara Kate to make the perfect quilt for my son!

If I had a daughter, I'd pair it with Flats by Angela Yosten for the cutest quilt!!!

And I'd pair it with a delicious spool of Aurfil #1231 (I must say its the nearest and not a perfect match!)

What would you pair our solid of the day with???

And would you like to win one yard of it?
Here's how to do that.
1. Mandatory entry. Guess the name of today's Color and leave a comment with the name.

2. For extra entries, you can post links to photos clicked by you with the Color of the Day in it.
One entry per photo. You can enter as many as you want. They could be anywhere, your blog, Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram... Absolutely anywhere on the world wide web. The only condition is that IT MUST BE CLICKED BY YOU. If anyone is found to link to somebody else's photo, they will be banned from the event! To increase your chances to win, enter as many photos as you can. 1 comment per photo link.

Go on! Keep those entries coming!!!

  7. There is definitely some acid green in these co-op mug rugs I made to commemorate the United Nations International Year of Co-operatives. I made these for my colleagues. By the way, the rainbow is one of the symbols representing co-operatives. We had it before the gay community. Link: http://www.flickr.com/photos/peacelovequilt/9028611433/
