FQS Bella Parade Post # 2

COLOR OF THE DAY

IVORY

This is white with a tinge of yellow in it... You will find that there is a miniscule difference between
PFD White (97), Ivory (60) and Snow (11)

But when you combine them with cool colored solids or prints the difference is highlighted!

Here are the results :

Isn't it fun that every one of them creates a totally different effect!

According to Wikipedia, "Ivory is an off-white color that resembles ivory, the material out of which the teeth and tusks of animals (such as, notably, the elephant and the walrus) is made. It has a very slight tint of yellow."

Used in combination with a tiny amount of warm colors, this color gives a royal feel!

When used with cool colors it gives an elegant look

Ivory is used in quilts as a base since a long time as it offsets other colors dramatically. It can be combined with a variety of colors...

Here are today Quilters Picks!

  1. I love ivory, our new kitchen cupboards are ivory. It says brides and elegance to me. I especially love it with white, when it reminds me of ice cream with a swirl of cream on the top.

  3. Ivory is the background for my One Star blocks that sent to Moda for Quilts of Valor drive. It gives an aged comfortable look to the blocks I added to flickr group.
