(My dad lost his home to an electric blanket fire almost 15 years ago) I try to remember to always unplug my machine...of course, I'm not sure what good that does considering we have some many other things that are constantly plugged in :-/

I nearly set her house on fire! I've heard of kettles, toasters and coffee pots doing this--things that are designed to produce heat, but I've never heard of it happening with a sewing machine.
