I think that my favorite story was Sara's about a loaner machine smoking, nearly catching fire while she and her friend ate cheesecake. Classic! :-D
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog! :-)
ReplyDeleteAlthough I love all the information I gained from the other posts, Carrie's post about the LEGO machine really tickled my funny bone. Those little pieces of plastic have been a big part of my son's life so that had a lot to do with my loving Carrie's post the most. Thanks for the great series!
ReplyDeleteTweeted the giveaway, too.

Wow! Every post was informative & it was interesting to hear about the features everyoneliked the most because they were oftentimes so different! I have an older Bernina that I wouldn't trade for anything and no one reviewed that machine. But I've had it for years - I may have been sewing since before some of your panelists were born.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite-I'll go for the lego version - it cracked me up!
I'm a follower from Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteI connected with Kirsten! We have the same machines!
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. I thoroughly enjoyed this machine blog tour. Thanks a lot!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was number four Jennifer with her Pfaff QE as I wanted to know more about that machine.

Fun blog hop. Difficult to pick a favorite post, but I did enjoy Sara sharing insight about a loaner machine almost catching on fire. My closest to that experience was at a retreat where a table had too many things going on and one of the quilters used a rotary to cut fabric....but it ran across the power cord to the iron. Sparks went flying all over and several machines were taken out of order. Fortunately no one was hurt.

I loved all the posts but my favorite was number 32, Carrie's Lego machine.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. Thanks for all your work to put this tour together.
ReplyDeletePost #1 because we have the same machine!

ReplyDeleteMy favourite post was number 11 from Alyce because she has a small regular machine but manages to use it make lovely quilts. There is hope for me yet!

ReplyDeleteI liked Carrie's 'lego' machine but I enjoyed them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks Shruti!
I found all the posts interesting. Sara's story of the machine that nearly caught fire was particularly entertaining (glad it didn't end badly) and of course the post about the lego machine made me smile.

ReplyDeleteMy fave was post #23 and especiallythe pic of Cristy's adorable superhero daughter sewing.
ReplyDeletePick a favorite? Tough! I choose #23. Cristy's post is great. She's decorated her Juki with purple daisies. Her daughter, the quilter in training, is just amazing. And her superhero outfit is pretty cool, too. Love it!
ReplyDeleteI am not only a follower, but I check your blog each morning - love all the information.
ReplyDeleteI truly enjoyed reading all the machine reviews, but found Carrie's Lego machine to be amazing and humorous. No tension issues there. I love getting opinions on machines and seeing what works for people. Thank you so much for hosting this - now looking forward to the pouches:)
ReplyDeleteI don't have a blog, but certainly appreciate the time and information I receive from reading the blogs.....maybe some day.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was #16 Teresa's 1954 Pfaff. I love the look of older machines, and the dependability without all the bells and whistles is my kind of machine :) Now I know to keep my eye out for one of these beauties if I ever get to upgrade from my Singer. Thanks Shruti for the fun (and informative!) little (uh, actually maybe gigantic) hop!

ReplyDeleteI liked Sally's post, we have the same machine. But I have to say that Carrie's post was funny. I definitely want to make a machine like hers. 😊
ReplyDeleteBoy, picking a favorite from all of them is hard. I found all of them interesting an full of good information about machines. I am going to pick the last one with the Lego machine because it was just too cute. Thank you ever so much for putting this together. I have learned a lot.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower. I find all of your posts fascinating and I have learned a lot from you.
ReplyDeleteA favourite?? Shucks, they were all informative--I know the Lego one was very neat--my son looked at it and was trying to see all the pieces he'd need to make one :)
ReplyDeleteI follow you :)

ReplyDeleteI can't say I have a specific favourite, but if I had to pick I would say I liked Doris' because she is a friend. I REALLY like the variety in machines. It was nice to have some low end machines as well as some high end (to dream) machines.
ReplyDeleteI am follower.
ReplyDeleteI loved the Leyla post. I am going to order lost 2 needed pieces.

DeleteGod bless auto correct. Lego
DeleteIt is hard to pick a favorite since they were all great! But I liked post #15 from Heidi. I'd love to get a mid or long arm machine one day and I like to learn what to look for!
ReplyDeleteI follow! Thanks for hosting such an informative blog hop!
ReplyDeleteOh my, there is no way I could pick a have, but I have to credit you for organizing a great hop! Each post offered something new, and as someone who owns numerous brands of machines, it's fun to read about everyone else's thoughts, faces and recommendations!
ReplyDeleteI'm a faithful follower, Shruti.
ReplyDeleteI honestly can't pick a favourite, it was just interesting to hear about other people's machines

ReplyDeleteI enjoyed many of the entries, but certainly one of my favorites was Emily's, #7. I liked the name she gave to her machine, naming it after her grandmother (very sweet) and the name her mother would have named her sister, if she had a sister. I like to think that sewing and quilting touch us with the past, and I think Emily did that when she named her sewing machine.

ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed hearing about everyone's machines, they are all so fancy compared to mine! I think my favourite post was 'Post # 21 : Alyssa : Juki 2010Q', although it really did make me wince that she thinks she hit a bone in her finger when she was sewing! Sort of makes me glad that mine isn't really a machine I can sew super fast with! Not that I'd say no to a more fancy machine, obviously ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I have tweeted here https://twitter.com/Sarah_L_N/status/276467593311817729
ReplyDeleteI will choose #33. I love the story of your sewing machine

ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this incredible review... somehow I missed a few but I thoroughly enjoyed discovering the different machines (I still love my Pfaff though!)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I could pick a favorite since I liked different posts for different reasons. But if I have to choose, I'll say Alyssa's because she helped me decide on a new machine!
ReplyDeleteI follow your blog in my reader.
ReplyDeleteI loved #22, she knows her stuff and makes for a fun read.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite: the story behind the machine on the button.
ReplyDeletePost # 32 : Carrie : Lego Machine
I follow your blog.
ReplyDeleteDana - #13 was of most interest to me.
ReplyDeletePost #21 by Alyssa from Pile O Fabric - I know she was late :o but I am amazed with all shes done for having not quilted for longer, she's such a natural!
ReplyDeleteI am a follow of your blog in my RSS feed too, thank you for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteSara's smoking machine was pretty funny!!

ReplyDeleteI have linked up and promoted your giveaway here too..
Keeping my fingers crossed..And hope I get lucky to start my First quilt..Thanks for the opportunity Shruti..
I loved this series as I'm looking into getting a machine with a larger throat space for quilting bigger quilts. One of my favorite reviews was Post # 21 : Alyssa : Juki 2010Q. She just upgraded to a machine that I'm now looking into. The Juki sounds like a good fit for me as I already have a Janome with alot of decorative stitches, so I just need a basic stitch machine with a more space. Thanks for a chance to win! :)
