AGF Stitched : Symphony Quilt

When Fat Quarter Shop invited me to be a part of the Art Gallery Fabrics Stitched :  Symphony Quilt along, I was overjoyed to say yes! It took my fabric ages to arrive. But I got it in time to make one block and make it into a mini quilt for my mother-in-law.



I will definitely be making a larger one with this pattern. It just comes together very fast!

I chose to make mine in the beautiful Wonderful Things fabric by Bonnie Christine.

I absolutely love this line - especially the beautiful Wash Aquarelle Study that I used for the backing!

Here is the front of the quilt. I love the beautiful floral fabrics and the fact that the quilt came together super fast!

I used a zig-zag quilting stitch on Ross - my Bernina 710  with my Dual Feed System. I love how it combines the ease of straight line quilting and the crinkly look of free motion quilting!

Sometimes everything just comes together in a beautiful manner! This quilt brought my new favorite fabric (somebody please gift me a bolt of that lovely Wash Aquarelle Study!!!), my new favorite quilting design and a quick-to-come-together pattern!!!

I used Aurifil 2115 (Lemon) in 50 wt to piece and quilt it.

Super happy to gift this quilt to my Mother in Law!

Today's quilt is the Fractal Quilt. I loved this pattern the moment I saw it. You can watch Kimberly's video and download the pattern. Make sure you buy the Creative Grids Kite Ruler to make this one. 

Today's block is made by yours truly!!!

And yeah, I just realized my shirt matches the fabric I used to make this block!!! LOL! But I just could not resist these indigo dyed fabrics!

The block came together pretty fast. I was actually not expecting that to happen! I have this innate fear for Y seams. Especially after making the Hexed quilt for Rohit. But it wasnt as bad this time! Maybe Kimberly's video did the trick!

Rohinni Juneja or Jolly Juneja (JJ), as she is known in my gang of girls made this lovely block. She is a multi-talented girl. Not only does she quilt, but she also has an online fabric shop. She also makes organic beauty and skincare products. And she is as crazy as I am!!! Love this girl! She is the most resourceful person I have met!!!

I loved the colours she chose to make hers. This girl was travelling when she volunteered to make it and finished it late into the night!!!

Another Day, Another pattern!!! This is so much fun!!!

Today's block is made by Shradha Vyas, known as Cushy to the gang (please don't ask why). She is the most awesome girl I have met. She is hard working, sophisticated, always ready for fun! She has two wonderful daughters and she does an awesome job of raising them as well as taking care of her family! 

She decided to make the block in Black and White fabrics rather than pink (I was expecting her to make a pink one actually!) But I loved it that she went outside her comfort zone with the colours.

I am enjoying this fun!!!

Today's pattern is the Bloom and Bliss Receiving Blanket. This super simple blanket is illustrated wonderfully in Kimberly's video tutorial. You can also download a pattern, order fabric and start working!!!

Today's quilt top is made by Sonalee Suchismita, popularly known as Lee!!! Apart from being a super awesome, dedicated quilter, a doting wife, a super mom, and a banker (phew!) she is also my social media manager-ess! And she does a damn good job with it!!! She is the one who is ready to jump after me out of a plane!!! Fearless. Totally dependable. She is one of my biggest cheer leaders!!!

She made this blanket top while she was travelling! She did not even have a sewing machine! She hand stitched the pieces together!!! See I told you she was dedicated! I love her fabric pairings!

Fat Quarter Shop : Top 10 Videos of 2015 : Day 6 Joyful Jelly Roll Tree Skirt

Today's quilt was awesome! It was so much fun watching Preeti make it in my studio! I totally loved it!



Today's quilt is actually a tree skirt. But we made it as a baby quilt. You can watch Kimberly's tutorial and download the pattern! This pattern will make a decent size tree skirt or a wonderfully scrappy baby quilt!

Preeti Tambade, my awesome intern made this one. She came to me almost 2 years back to learn how to make Hawaii Quilt. She has stuck to me since then, absorbing all she can. And now she can do almost anything that I can!When she started making this quilt, she was apprehensive about the piecing. But I just gave her a link to the video tutorial and the pattern and she took it from there. I loved watching her expressions change from "Is this woman insane to expect me to do this" to "Wow! I really could do it!"



Here's her quilt top. It is in her machine, FMQ in progress at the moment!

I love the scrappiness of this quilt! Maybe I will make another one some day with some colourful neutral!

Today's block has been made by Charulata Jagtap, commonly known as Charu and secretly known as Dada (leader) in our group! She is also a fellow architect and loves to quilt. She is the most restrained person I know! I think she could be the only quilter on the planet who does not buy fabric if she does not know what to do with it!!!

She made this lovely red block!!!

I absolutely love her fabric choice! The striped red makes it look quilted!

Today, Kausalya Pandit volunteered to make the quilt block! She is my 'twisted' sister, someone whom I trust, my partner in crime, the one who will first laugh heartily before picking me up if I fall down! In two words - my Best Friend!!

Here is the block that she made! She made the block using a Layer Cake from one of our Facebook friend - Anupama Rao! I like the B&W with the red!

And here is the wonderful block that she made. See those corners! Didn't I tell you her work is super neat?

I loved the fabric she chose for her block. It is so not me. But it makes me want to try it!

Fat Quarter Shop : Top 10 Videos of 2015 : Day 1 Charm Box Quilt

When FQS is sharing their top 10 Video Tutorials for 2015, how could I not get on board?

But I did not have fun alone!!! I invited my gang of girls to play along!!!

We decided to make just the blocks and later in 2016, make them into stuff for ourselves. 

Today is the Charm Box Quilt. You can watch Kimberly's video tutorial to learn how to make this quilt. Then download the FREE pattern and grab your favorite Charm Pack and get sewing.

Sangeeta Chhabra, or Nani (Grandma) as we call her volunteered to make the 'mini' quilt top for this one. She is one sweet lady. Always smiling. Always pampering. And she gives the best hugs I have ever known.

She chose to work with some lovely baby prints from her stash. She was in between moving and had not unpacked her entire stash yet. And since she makes baby clothes, this was the fabric she loved to use.

She decided to cut the fabric into strips for the outer border instead of mini charm squares.

I love her quilt.
