Of the choices, the best answer would be (b.) to switch to a better thread.
ReplyDeleteWell she said rethreading the machine first, but of the choices you gave I guess the answer is B -switching to a better thread.

ReplyDeleteMost of her tension issues are solved by re-threading her machine or cleaning out the bobbin case, but switching to better thread has made her have fewer issues in the first place.

She usually re threads or cleans the shuttle but I guess the answer you're looking for is changing to a better thread!
ReplyDeleteRethread and clean out the shuttle.She also changed to a better thread. I had the same issues and found that a better thread was the answer. I read somewhere that tension issues are usually not change the tension but change the needle or the thread first.

is the best choice as you didn't list what she wrote that she does 90% of the time.
She said that "nine times out of ten I can fix it(tension problems) by re-threading the machine or cleaning out the shuttle."
For "actual quilting" switching to better thread (Aurifil) has helped her tremendously.
She would re thread and try again. I have had this work wonders for me too. Sometimes it fixes a multitude of problems.

ReplyDeleteAnyway, re-threading the machine is a good idea, to solve tension issues, therefore, the answer would be 2.

She rethreads, and if that doesn't work, she switches to a better thread. I have the same problem!

ReplyDelete#2 is correct as Cori has switched to Aurifil thread. But...she also knows that re-threading and cleaning the bobbin area/shuttle are really important.
