Of the choices, the best answer would be (b.) to switch to a better thread.
ReplyDeleteWell she said rethreading the machine first, but of the choices you gave I guess the answer is B -switching to a better thread.
ReplyDeleteRethreading if still a problem, but almost all problems eliminated by switching to better thread.
ReplyDeleteHe said she would rethread the machine. That's kind of choice a.
ReplyDeleterethreading and the quilting issues are usually solved thru better thread :)
ReplyDeleteMost of her tension issues are solved by re-threading her machine or cleaning out the bobbin case, but switching to better thread has made her have fewer issues in the first place.
ReplyDeleteSwitching to a better thread is the best answer. :-)
ReplyDeleteSwitching thread if going with choice but she does 2 steps before that.
ReplyDelete#2. She changed to Aurifil threads. (smart move!) :)
ReplyDeleteCori has to change her threads.....thinking I love Aurifil - good choice.
ReplyDeleteA. Cori can fix it by re-threading the machine or cleaning out the shuttle usually.

She usually re threads or cleans the shuttle but I guess the answer you're looking for is changing to a better thread!
ReplyDeleteRethread and clean out the shuttle. She also changed to a better thread. I had the same issues and found that a better thread was the answer. I read somewhere that tension issues are usually not change the tension but change the needle or the thread first.
ReplyDeleteShe re-threaded her machine and switched to better thread!
ReplyDeleteOf the choices you listed
ReplyDelete(2) switching to better thread
is the best choice as you didn't list what she wrote that she does 90% of the time.
She said that "nine times out of ten I can fix it(tension problems) by re-threading the machine or cleaning out the shuttle."
For "actual quilting" switching to better thread (Aurifil) has helped her tremendously.
She would re thread and try again. I have had this work wonders for me too. Sometimes it fixes a multitude of problems.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great blog and contest.
Rethreading and changing to a better thread. I really want to try some Aurifil, I've heard so many good things about it!
ReplyDeleteI went to her blog but I'm afraid there's no post on "Know thy machine' and the last post I can see is the 3rd of October, am I missing something here?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, re-threading the machine is a good idea, to solve tension issues, therefore, the answer would be 2.
Oops! now I got it. I was looking for Danie's post thinking that today's question was based on today's blogger!
DeleteI am sorry Shruti, I 'just' started to Hop :D
She rethreads, and if that doesn't work, she switches to a better thread. I have the same problem!
ReplyDeleteShe has switched to a better quality thread when she is quilting.
ReplyDeleteUsing better thread usually helps......been there, done that! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for chance to win! :)
Cori said that re-threading her machine, and sometimes cleaning out the shuttle helped with her issues. Thanks for the very informative hop - just found you today!

Cori re-threads her machine, and cleans out the shuttle helps the tension. And using better thread helps too! :)
ReplyDelete#2 is correct as Cori has switched to Aurifil thread. But...she also knows that re-threading and cleaning the bobbin area/shuttle are really important.
ReplyDeleteSwitching threads, re-threading or cleaning the shuttle area help Cori with her tension issues.
